Rising Sun Ranch
Rules of the Ranch
Here are the rules we all adhere to here at the Ranch, whether you board your horse here, take lessons or live here. If you have any questions at all please ask us.

#1) SAFETY FIRST AND ALWAYS!
This is a horse facility, and all participants and guests are required to practice safety and common sense around the horses, barn area, paddocks, trails and pastures.
-All riders under the age of eighteen (18) AND any students enrolled in lessons regardless of age are required to wear a helmet when riding AND know these rules.
-All children on the premises are to be accompanied by an adult at all times. Otherwise we're sending them home with a pony. A really cranky one.
-RSR is also a working cattle ranch and hay operation. At no time is there to be any interaction by guests with any cattle or other livestock on the premises or with the farming equipment in the farmyard or fields. IF YOU OPEN A GATE, YOU MUST CLOSE IT BEHIND YOU.
#2) ALL HORSES AND HORSE OWNERS ARE CREATED EQUAL
We at no time discriminate against any person or horse for any reason. All ages, knowledge levels and experiences are welcome here, and all participants and their guests are expected to treat each other with respect and kindness.
#3) IF IT ISN’T YOURS, DON’T TOUCH IT!
-All visitors are responsible for securing their own property. RSR is not liable for any loss or theft.
-Do not enter the paddock or stall of or handle a horse that is not yours without either permission of the Owner or unless directed to do so by an RSR manager.
-Do not feed any horse or other animal anything, treats included, without explicit permission from its owner.

#4) DRIVE AND RIDE WITH CARE
Please be cautious when driving onto the property, as horses may be in the farmyard or being led from stables to the arena.
-SPEED LIMIT IS 5 MPH AT ALL TIMES. NO riding horses on the concrete or in the barn/stable areas.
-Ride with caution next to paddocks and pastures where horses or other livestock are turned out.
#6) CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF!
Please leave the areas that you use as clean or better than you found them. Clean up all manure piles and hair piles that your horse leaves. Do not clean out trailers in the farmyard. Place all trash in trash cans. Put brushes, hoses, and halters where they belong when you are done with them. Many hands make light work, so if you have a moment to help out, know that your help is always greatly appreciated.
-Inform the Barn Manager (Nikky Scofield) of any problems or issues you see immediately.
#7) NO SMOKING, DRINKING OF ALCOHOL OR DRUG USE ALLOWED!
#8) NO PERSONAL DOGS. Please leave all pets at home unless certified as a service animal.
#9) RELEASE OF LIABILITY WAIVERS
Horse Owners, Their Family Members, Lesson Students, Visitors and/or Guests may not be on this premises without a signed Release of Liability Waiver. A Waiver must be on file for everyone regardless of age. A copy of these initialed rules must accompany all adult and family group waivers.
#10) Rising Sun Ranch reserves the right to refuse service to any person(s) who disregard or refuse to abide by these rules.

And Finally... PLEASE ENJOY OUR HOME! All of us at Rising Sun Ranch are happy to host you and your horse and we want you to feel this is your second home. We are glad you are here!
